AstraZeneca: agents on the delivery team

AstraZeneca: agents on the delivery team

Tickets go in; reviewed pull requests come out. We put autonomous agents inside a pharmaceutical giant's delivery process, with the audit trail pharma demands.

The problem

Enterprise software delivery has no shortage of backlog and no surplus of engineers. The question was whether agentic delivery, proven in our own R&D, survives contact with corporate reality: Jira, review gates, compliance.

What we built

A multi-agent SDLC workflow that takes tickets from backlog to pull request, with humans holding the merge button. The system implements a design by Medius Cortex; we are adapting it in the field, closing the gaps practice finds, and fitting it exactly to the client's needs as it moves through beta testing towards launch. The delivery board syncs both ways with corporate Jira, so the wider organisation watches progress in the tools it already trusts. No parallel process, no shadow backlog.

Why it matters

Auditability is the feature: what each agent did, and why, is on the record for every change. That is what turns agentic delivery from a demo into something a regulated business can adopt.
