Vodafone: six countries, one publish button

Vodafone: six countries, one publish button

Six countries live. Targets hit six months early. Three million users a year ahead of plan. One CMS platform, publishing on demand.

The problem

Vodafone's V-Hub initiative needed country microsites that local teams could manage and publish independently. At Vodafone scale, on a cost ceiling, yesterday.

What we built

Publish-on-demand as architecture: Contentful fires an event, SQS queues it, and an AWS Batch job renders the whole site against a bespoke Gatsby template. Sites are data, not deployments. We designed the AWS estate, led the delivery team, and wired the GitLab CI that shipped it.

The result

First target beaten by six months. Three million users a year early. Vodafone lifted the components and rolled them into other programmes, the strongest compliment infrastructure gets. Years later, the same sites-as-data idea became the backbone of AOne, our own CMS.
