Sky, Channel 4, the BBC, Liberty Global, RTL: their video workflows ran
through a console we spent three years leading, with a team of 25 across
three countries.
The problem
The Piksel Palette was twenty-plus bespoke microservices (identity,
metadata, workflow, delivery) fronted by an Angular proof of concept that
had hit its ceiling. Broadcasters needed an operations console, not a
demo.
What we built
The React replacement, architected and delivered while re-imagining the
whole delivery strategy with the senior team: technology choices, testing
culture, continuous deliverability. Performance and development pace both
jumped.
What it did
Video delivery and manipulation (stills capture, captioning), shared
team configuration, dashboards, and a git-like changeset model for content
editing. Components shipped as npm packages and spread through the rest of
the organisation.
