Informa: one design system, a hundred microsites

Informa: one design system, a hundred microsites

A world-leading academic publisher, a sprawl of microsites that had all drifted apart, and one component library to bring them home.

The problem

Every Informa microsite had reinvented its own header, its own CMS wiring, its own bugs. Publishing at that scale needs sites that are assembled, not built.

What we built

Leading the delivery team, we created reusable Contentful-driven components in an Nx monorepo (React and Next.js with Tailwind), with GraphQL contracts that parse CMS content into one predictable shape. Every microsite consumes the same components against the same contract.

The takeaway

Look-and-feel unified, backend integration unified, and each new microsite cheaper than the last. Platform thinking applied to publishing.
